Our national politics have become recklessly partisan, and economic opportunities for middle-class Americans have been steadily shrinking.
Our District was hard hit by the mortgage crisis and recession. Government shutdowns and threats of debt default hinder our fragile recovery. Young people entering the job market face an uncertain future. We must invest in education and job skills, support small and medium-sized businesses, and guarantee economic opportunity to the next generation.
If elected I will do everything in my power to restore civic trust and economic opportunity for our community and the nation as a whole.

I first met Jim at the end of October, when he was still putting everything together. I’ve stuck with it because I have so much respect for him. He puts so much value in talking with people and learning about their concerns and hopes for the future of the Sixth District, which is something I don’t think a lot of public figures do.

My favorite moments have been the several occasions that I have watched Jim respond spontaneously to questions from voters on the issues and challenges facing our nation right now. He always demonstrates an in-depth knowledge, thoughtfulness, and legislative & political insight that is rare among congressional candidates.

Issues that are important to me include economic opportunity and fairness. Every working person deserves an opportunity to earn a fair wage. As a union member, I appreciate Jim’s strong commitment to defend the rights of workers which we Americans have fought so long and hard for.
